After writing about selecting crystals a couple of weeks ago, I have had a number of inquiries about what size or form to choose. The simple answer is… it depends! Let’s see if we can break this down a bit. As with everything I write… this is simply my perspective. You may have friends who can expand upon this, books or online resources that will give you other perspectives, etc. The truth is you need to decide what works for you. If something I write resonates with you; try it for yourself.
SMALL: Let’s start small. Two common ways that people work with Crystals/Stones, is by wearing or carrying them. Jewelry is the most common. If you wear jewelry, look through your collection to see if you already have stones that you are naturally drawn to. Many of us are told our ‘birthstone’ at a very early age (by someone important in our lives). As a result our birthstone may already feel personal to us; especially if we relate to Astrology or the signs of the Zodiac. Some are drawn to gems like Diamonds or Rubies because of their recognition within our culture/society as symbols of wealth/achievement. Read the rest of this entry »

When I started this business almost a year ago, I was really clear that I wanted to offer both group and one-on-one learning, healing and a place to build community. Of course as with most things I get myself into, I only know what I know. What I DON’T know usually far exceeds the small tidbits I do know!!! Sometimes this motivates me to explore the new areas of unknown that are being revealed!
Well I can safely say… I had never heard of SRT (Spiritual Response Therapy)! Of the amazing Spiritual Consultants that call Storm Wisdom home, 3 of them use SRT and consider it one of the powerful resources they have in their Spiritual took kit (what do you think… a new acronym STK!). Each of them uses it in conjunction with other modalities and personal gifts…. so it has taken a while for me to really grasp what is going on. Okay… begin to grasp. Here is some information, SRT methodology, definitions and interpretations that are taken directly from ‘The Freedom Path’ and ‘Soul Re-Creation’, written by Robert E. Detzler
“SRT is a system of researching the subconscious mind and soul records to quickly find and release discordant, limiting ideas and replace them with loving, supportive ideas and beliefs. SRT provides and exacting, powerful, virtually painless and accurate way of changing the landscape of our inner an outer lives. This SRT enables us to live our lives more freely. Meditation is great. I love it. I love the state of calm, centeredness, connection and Oneness that I feel. I love the vibrations that I feel in my body when I meditate. I feel blessed when new awareness and what I will call guidance comes to me. Several months ago during meditation I began to receive information like “as this earth shifts and changes and higher frequencies are realized, people and all life shift and change as well….frequencies of healing methods will also shift and change”.
A concept I began to call Integrative Vibrational Healing™ started to form. I wondered what this meant; I am a subtle energy practitioner who uses a variety of vibrational healing tools/therapies. I was reminded that the universe is comprised of a musical and mathematical score; our very life force is an energetic field as is all life. All life forms can be thought of as energetic forms or vibrations. Vibration is an act of things moving, jiggling or oscillating in simple terms. Vibrational healing therapies that use subtle energies can include: Light (laser), sound, subtle energy, intuition, heart based connection, color, breath, crystals, flower essences, herbs, numerology, astrology, nature, guided visualization, affirmations, and intentions are all available to name a few. Tailoring or customizing these therapies for oneself or clients is what I call Integrative Vibrational Healing™. This approach complements traditional or other non-traditional forms of healing. It all began to make sense.
We have seen and some of you have experienced vibrational healing therapies and technologies that are available in many traditional and non-traditional healing practices. Classes and programs are available if you want to learn many of the healing techniques or therapies mentioned above. These therapies are not new; many have been around for thousands of years and called by many names. New applications are being discovered all of the time. Whether you are aware of it or not most of you experience daily the effects of color and sound. You can test this as you think about the music that pleases you and the colors that soothe you or make you feel good whether they are found in the clothes you wear or found in your home decor. You are receiving the benefits of color and sound therapy.

Okay… what a surprise to find that I have had my head buried in the sand when it comes to portions of my life! THIS is not the image I want to be holding in my mind of how I am living life these days!!! There are so many areas, of my life, where my head is high, the view unobstructed, and the path is cl
ear that lays before me. So, when all of a sudden I realize I also am blind to important portions of this journey. I wonder how I could not have known.
Here is the deal… as I lift my head from the sand and see the things that I have not been paying attention too, I begin to wonder, what exactly I have missed along the way. Were there important signs that revealed danger or rough terrain ahead? Were there indicators of short-cuts that would have helped me reach my destination or goals sooner? Was there something of such incredible beauty, that if I had seen it, would have inspired me to stop, rest and enjoy; simply because it filled my heart with joy?

Running this business keeps mirroring my life!
I have been trying to sort out in my mind exactly how I am going to do an end-of-year inventory for StormWisdom. I must admit, when I was dreaming this business into existence, I did not spend much time thinking about details like ‘taking inventory”. My dreaming was about all the fun and expansive things I would get to do!!! However, the reality of everyday life of running a business is there too.
Don’t get me wrong, most of the time, I don’t mind the minutia of running a Well-Being Center and Crystal Gallery… sometimes it is fun to get lost in the details. Other times… well lets just say it is a good thing Ruthie and Shirley are here to keep things moving!!!
Right now though, I have been trying to sort out ‘HOW’ to take an inventory… Then in my resistance to having to do this infrequent (once or twice a year) activity, I hear a small (can you say childlike) voice that is asking “WHY are we doing this?” It is in hearing this silent question and finding an adult response that makes me realize how this mirrors my personal life.
